Former Biloxi city councilman begins federal sentence

Former Biloxi City Councilman Robert Deming began serving his prison sentence for a federal drug charge Monday.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons online database shows Deming is serving his six-year sentence at Federal Prison Camp Montgomery, a minimum-security federal prison on the grounds of Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama.

Deming resigned as a Biloxi councilman in May, months before pleading guilty to a charge of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute controlled substances.
