Former Bay St. Louis Mayor Eddie Favre laid to rest

A funeral Mass was held for Former Bay St. Louis Mayor Eddie Favre, who died last Sunday.

Family, friends, and community leaders turned out to honor the former mayor.

Friends and colleagues from Hancock County, Waveland, and Bay St. Louis filled Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church.

Other colleagues from the Coast, including Biloxi Mayor FoFo Gilich, were also there to pay their respects.

Favre served as city clerk before becoming mayor, where he served for 20 years, guiding Bay St. Louis through the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Favre was buried in a trademark Hawaiian shirt, shorts, and flip-flops with a Snickers bar tucked into the casket.

He was buried at St. Mary Cemetery.
