Fly Llama Brewing hosts Biloxi Shuckers Home Opening Day party
Today was the home opener for the Biloxi Shuckers and fans from all over got together at a local bar to celebrate the special occasion.
Home Opening Day for the Shuckers comes around once a year and the team at Fly Llama Brewing Company decided that they wanted to get more involved during the day.
Due to this, Fly Llama Brewing Owner David Reese decided to throw an Opening Day Shuckers celebration to kick off the new season. “We love it. We love baseball. Shuckers games are so much fun and we are happy to be able to kind of start the season off with a bang. The Shuckers are great partners of ours and we can’t wait. It’s going to be a great season.”
This is the first time Reese has ever decided to throw a party for this special day and he says the crowd did not disappoint at all. “This is the first time we’ve done it. We didn’t really know what to expect, but opening day is a reason for celebration and it seems like Biloxi answered the call.”
Hundreds of guests from along the Coast made their way to the brewery where they were able to get down a few drinks before heading to the game.
Some guests like Mobile resident Aaron Freesmeier even came from out of state to see the Shuckers play some ball. “I’m excited. I’d like to make as many games as possible -maybe a dozen. Right around there. I know there are six games right at home here starting up pretty soon like it started tonight. Also, I’m rooting for Jarvis the pitcher because he’s the only one with a cooler mustache than me.”
At about 6, guests at Fly Llama got together and marched down the street in a second line all the way to the entrance of MGM Park to get ready for the first pitch.
