Flooding around the Coast

Flooding has been a major issue around the Coast today.

This viewer video we received shows just how high the water is in some low-lying areas with backyards almost completely flooded in Long Beach.

For those at risk, you may want to place furniture and other outdoor objects inside or on higher ground to protect items from potentially drifting off as rains continue to elevate water levels.

Also, barricades have been put up at flood prone areas throughout Mississippi.

Although waters have receded in some areas after much of the severe weather passed, we are still watching for the next front to move in and more rainfall.

Cedar Lake Road, just north of where it intersects with I-10, was flooded temporarily, but by early afternoon some vehicles were able to pass through the area.

Patio furniture was submerged in the water-covered yards of some homes in the area and debris floated in the water lapping Cedar Lake Road this afternoon.
