Flood safety on the Gulf with Harrison County Emergency Management Agency

HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- Many areas in Harrison, Jackson, and Hancock counties are designated by FEMA as Special Flood Hazard Areas, with National Risk Index ratings ranging from high to very high. Harrison County Emergency Management Agency coordinates preparedness and response activities when local flooding turns hazardous.

For Harrison County residents, flood zones are available on the county’s website and can be searched by address. HARCO EMA encourages residents to sign up for the HARCO Alert system, which provides real-time notifications about active flood risks. To register, text “HARCOINFO” to 99411.
