Flood Concerns Continue for Pass Christian
Flood waters almost reached the front door of residents in West Harrison County yesterday.
Although waters in most areas are now receding, residents are still on high alert. Several people on Derrick Road in Pass Christian still have significant inches of rain surrounding their household.
Gina Pepperman tells News 25 she’s used to street flooding, but the amount of water she received in her backyard was unlike anything she’s seen before. “We had water all the way up to the tops of the swing sets. We watched a ball float all the way around the backyard like it was a pond. I don’t want to see our street become impassable again. I know if people do come down the street, please be careful. There are wakes that you can push water into other people’s homes.”
Over the past couple of days, the Pass Christian area has seen over six inches of rain.
