Five People Injured in Accident on Wortham Road

Five people were injured – and one of them airlifted to a hospital – from the scene of an accident Thursday night in north Harrison County. The accident happened at the intersection of Highway 49 and Wortham Road. EMS officials had to extricate two people out of a vehicle, and AMR took four people to the hospital to be treated for injuries. One person was flown by Rescue 5 to the hospital for treatment. No official word yet on the condition of those injured or what may have caused the accident.
