Fishbone Alley Thrives In Downtown
Gulfport’s Fishbone Alley has only been open for six months, but it’s already getting national recognition.
The New York post has dubbed it one the most unusual and enjoyable American streets.
The funky, artsy pedestrian walkway has become home to Gulfport’s downtown entertainment.
City officials say what they’ve seen fishbone alley become in the last few months is exactly what they envisioned when they decided to turn an eyesore into a destination.
“It’s organic. It takes a life of it’s own. It grows as it wants to grow and as the people want it to grow. If they want more music, then we’re going to make sure we have more music. I’ve got people calling me about doing fundraisers in the alley, reunions, alleys, parties different things and we’re trying to help everyone achieve that and have a great fun time.”
