Fish fry benefiting local veterans this Saturday

There’s a fish fry fundraiser happening this Saturday in Long Beach.

Crusaders for Veterans and Equal Steps for Veterans Home are hosting the fish fry in Long Beach.

Crusaders for Veterans helps vets with anything from home projects, like installing a ramp or mowing the lawn to readjusting into civilian life.

While they work to assist all veterans, their main focus is helping out the homeless. That’s also where their new partnership with Equal Steps for Veterans Home comes in.

Since they specialize in providing 24-hour care to veterans, they’re hoping to better serve veterans.

The fish fry will not only raise money, but celebrate the joining of two organizations dedicated to helping our veterans. Crusaders for Veterans President Kevin Cuttill said, “It’s not just about the food. It’s about bringing the community together and saying hey look this is here. That way if they ever see a veteran on the street, they know who to call. That’s what’s important, getting the word out, getting everyone involved because sitting around talking about it is never good enough.”

The fish plates will be $10 per plate and come with mullet, coleslaw, hush puppies, and fries. There will also be other vendors and live music.
