First Starbucks in Ocean Springs Under Construction

Soon coffee lovers who live in Ocean Springs won’t have to look much further than their own backyard to get a drink from Starbucks.
In just a few months, Ocean Springs will have their very first Starbucks. Construction began about six weeks ago for the $551,000 building, which is seated right next to Checkers and across the street from the Ocean Springs Hospital.
The new coffee shop is slated for an August 26th opening. Lanco Construction Superintendent Anthony Courteaux said, “We’re looking to hit that projected date. With the weather the way it’s been, we’re still pushing as hard as we can so we’ll be finished.”
Ocean Springs resident Deborah Golden said, “I have to go to Biloxi to get Starbucks. This is exciting that we’ll have our own Starbucks right here in Ocean Springs. This is just kind of like the hub of Ocean Springs. I think it will be great for us.”
Lanco Construction will hand over the keys to Starbucks mid-July so they can add their own finishing touches in time for their August 26th opening.
