First Responder Appreciation Breakfast in Long Beach

This morning, students at Harper McCaughan Elementary School in Long Beach said thanks to first responders with a delicious breakfast.

Students prepared a meal of doughnuts, coffee, and other goodies to show Long Beach firefighters and police they are appreciated.  Students also wrote dozens of notes and drew pictures to thank the first responders for keeping them safe.

Long Beach Officer Jolee Knight tells News 25 she is thankful the kids took time to write the notes and she plans to write some of the students back. “It means a lot that the children take their time and look up to us. It shows what we are doing out there is a good job and they appreciate it. That’s why I will come all the time and walk around this school. It is a community so we are all together in this and they make us really feel that way.”
