First Fridays return to downtown Biloxi

As we get deeper into the year, a beloved Biloxi block party returns to Howard Avenue.

The fun starts at 5 p.m. Friday on the District Green. Biloxi Main Street, which puts on the event, took a two-month hiatus, and now that Mardi Gras is over, some might like to keep the good times rolling.

Magnolia Bayou will start playing at 5 and crowd favorite Blackwater Brass starts at 7.

The event has grown to include more than 30 arts and crafts vendors each month. Biloxi Main Street Executive Director Kay Miller said, “Well with First Fridays we want to continue to keep up the great entertainment. We’re adding a lot more art to Downtown Biloxi. We really want to keep First Fridays going and hope to make them bigger and better. You can shop in our little downtown shops and boutiques. They have specials and sales going on as well, lots of fun things. You can come and see what downtown has to offer.”

The Knights of Columbus Council 1244 are also having a fish fry at the block party as a lent-friendly option.
