First Fourth of July celebration at Ohr-O’Keefe Museum

The Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art is putting the finishing touches on the preparations for their inaugural Fourth of July Festivities starting tomorrow.

Tomorrow night, the museum is hosting a members-only event then on Saturday a pig roast will be held for the general public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with pulled pork plates available for purchase.

On the Fourth, visiting artist Quintron and his weather-controlled musical synthesizer will perform with a seven to nine piece band on the plaza to provide a musical score for the fireworks which will light up the night sky.

Ohr officials say they’re excited to host a weekend full of fun for the Coast community. Director of Development Brenda Blount said, “We thought that it would make more sense to just have a weekend long event. Starting on Friday, we have our members-only event so if you’re not a member of Ohr join so you can come to the members-only event.”

For more information on the schedule of this weekend’s festivities or for more information on memberships, you can visit the museum’s website or call them at 228-374-5547.
