Gulfport School District Students Return To School
Today was the start of the academic school year for some students in the Gulfport School District.
WXXV News 25’s Austin Lindsey shares more on the return to school for incoming Freshmen at Gulfport High.
Incoming middle schoolers and Gulfport High Freshmen begin the start of their school year today to get them adjusted to their new schools
Now this is the third academic year since the Gulfport School District adopted a full-school year calendar schedule with longer intermediate breaks during the school year. administration and the newest Gulfport High Admirals told WXXV News 25 their aspirations for the next four years.
“We kind of bring them in today do a pep rally in the morning do a lot of team building activity get them familiar with each other,” says Gulfport Freshmen Principal John Archie.
“I think this is cool you’re in school for all the others i know it’s a short summers but we also have all those intercession breaks campus is big but all these teachers are helping so it’s easy to get around and you’re all in one hall,” says Gulfport Freshman Anderson Karetas.
“The spot where they have all the act scores 33 and above. i most definitely want to be on that. just to have my face like there. I feel like that’s something that will make my father proud and like don’t make the school proud,” says Gulfport Freshman Avery Amos.
Starting tomorrow all grade-level students will return for the first day of classes.
