Firework stands staying busy

With the clock ticking down on 2019, the people of the Coast are preparing to light up the sky to celebrate the New Year.

Fireworks are flying off the shelves at Snap, Krackle, Pop Fireworks in Biloxi ahead of the last night of the year.

Co-owner of the stand Virginia Anderson explains that New Year’s is their busiest season of the year, particularly New Year’s Eve, which is their most profitable day of the entire year. “It is a good business. The weather impacts it a lot. And of course what season it is, whether it is Fourth of July or New Year’s impacts it a lot. It’s very important to us on the Coast. Since Katrina, it’s a big celebration of life. People here are like ‘we’re here, we’re going to keep going.’”

The stand will be open tomorrow all day for anyone looking for last minute fireworks.
