Firework free zones in Biloxi

Fireworks on the Fourth can be fun for all ages, but they can also be dangerous.

Thankfully, if you want to take part in the festivities while keeping your family safe from firework related hazards, the City of Biloxi is once again staging a fireworks-free zone on East Beach.

The designated area is located between Oak Street and the Biloxi Small Craft Harbor which should be the perfect place to view the show, starting at 9 p.m. on July 4th.  Biloxi Officer Jason Cummings said, “It is illegal to shoot fireworks in the city limits of Biloxi so during this time or anytime if you are caught shooting fireworks north of 90 or in the City of Biloxi you could be subjected to a citation and if you are also shooting fireworks in the firework free zone you can be subjected to a citation as well.”

The Fourth of July fireworks show will be prefaced by a firework show tonight at MGM Park after the Shuckers-Baybears baseball game.
