Firemen’s Parade in Biloxi

The Biloxi Fire Department maintained tradition with the annual Firemen’s Parade.
Hundreds of people gathered together in Biloxi to witness new and antique fire and police vehicles parade through the streets of downtown Biloxi. The trucks rolled from Lameuse Street to the West End Hose Co. No. 3 Headquarters on Howard Avenue.
The parade is put on by the fire museum and dates back to the 1900s. Biloxi Fire Museum President Richard Murden said, “You know, everybody likes a fire truck at least they ought too. Now, sometimes, I wonder about these modern kids, you know, they want space rockets and all that stuff and all they care about their little phones, but somewhere along the line it is exciting to see the fire truck going and you will need that as far as I know for the rest of eternity.”
Murden tells News 25 that he was a volunteer firefighter for most of his life and it means a lot to be able to share the history through the museum.
