Firefighters battling brush fire on I-10 near Mile Marker 10 in Hancock County

Firefighters are battling another brush fire on I-10 in Hancock County this afternoon.
West Hancock Fire Department had a truck on scene battling the fire on north side of the westbound lanes of I-10 near mile marker 10.
According to Kevin Craft with the MS Forestry Commission, the fire is about 75 to 100 acres. Fire authorities have about ten percent of the fire contained.
National park service engine units are assisting in fighting this fire. A plane is also flying overhead for survelliance.
Motorists driving in the area should take care and watch for first responders in the area.
A reminder as well that there is a burn ban in effect in South Mississippi.
