Fire on Tandy Road

An afternoon house fire caused major damage to a Gulfport home.
Gulfport firefighters responded quickly to the home on Tandy Drive just before 7 p.m. Neighbors tell News 25 that a woman and her dog were in the home when the fire started. One neighbor rushed to the home and helped the woman out of the house.
Firefighters used a chainsaw on the roof to reach the fire. The blaze was eventually contained and there is no word on what started that fire.
