Fire Safety Advice

We are seeing more woods fires break out lately. Officials say a dry atmosphere and strong winds can add fuel to a small blaze and cause it to get out of control.
Many residents gather items they want to get rid of and simply burn them in their yards. Officials say use extra caution and never leave fires unattended, not even for a few minutes and keep an eye on the weather.
Remember to alert your neighbors if you plan to burn your trash. This is so they don’t assume the smoke they see is an emergency situation.
If you have questions about what you can and cannot burn, contact your local fire department.
