Fire Protection District Community Day

One Coast fire district held an event on Saturday to connect with the community.

The Gulf Park Estates/ St. Andrews Fire Protection District held a community day on Saturday in Ocean Springs.

Kids and adults were able to see and explore the district’s range of firefighting vehicles and interact with firefighters.

Fire Chief Wayne Emile says that kids especially enjoy the ability to see the equipment up close. “The kids are just thrilled, cause, they see fire trucks on TV and they see them go down the road running, you know, lights and sirens, but they can’t actually physically touch them, and to be able to sit in there and touch the steering wheel and touch everything that they see, just, they’re all thrilled.”
