Fire officials ask community to avoid outside burning

Now that we are under a red flag warning for much of the day Saturday, South Mississippi fire departments are asking residents to avoid any outdoor burning, including campfires and debris burns.

Even small sparks from equipment or vehicles parked on dry grass could ignite a wild fire.

Report any fire immediately to local officials or 911.
