Fire District Clerk Fired for Embezzling Thousands

An employee of the Diamondhead Fire Protection District has been arrested and charged with embezzling over $25,000.
According to Hancock County Sheriff Ricky Adam, 55-year-old Kiln resident Sandra Zitterkopf was arrested on embezzlement charges and faces a $20,000 bond in the Hancock County Jail.
Diamondhead Fire Chief Jerry Dubuisson issued a statement today that discrepancies were found in the annual audit of the fire district’s business office and the department immediately notified Hancock County investigators.
