Fire breaks out at closed elementary school in Moss Point

MOSS POINT, Miss. (WXXV)- A fire broke out inside the old East Park Elementary School in Moss Point Monday.

Jackson County Fire Protection units were sent out to provide aerial support for the Moss Point Fire Department around noon.

According to Jackson County Fire Protection, crews were responding to a rekindle at the elementary school on McCall Street.

Moss Point FD is leading the scene and the investigation.

The school has been permanently closed for several years.
