Final funeral, procession details for Deputy Michael Jimerson released
JACKSON COUNTY, Miss (WXXV)- The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has released the finalized details for the funeral service and procession for fallen deputy Michael Jimerson, who was killed in the line of duty on April 2.
Services begin Friday, April 10 at First Baptist Church of Biloxi, with visitation from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
The main service will follow at 1 p.m., and will last around an hour, which will be followed by a funeral procession that will begin sometime around 2:30-3 p.m.
That procession will last between 1-2 hours, and will take the following route:
The procession will depart First Baptist Church of Biloxi, traveling east on Popp’s Ferry Road to Old Popp’s Ferry Road, then continue along D’Iberville Boulevard, Auto Mall Parkway, Rodriguez Street, Gorenflo Road, Quave Road, and Brittany Avenue—passing the Brittany Boat Launch, a place meaningful to Deputy Jimerson.
The route will then proceed to Lemoyne Boulevard, Highway 609/Washington Avenue, Highway 90, Main Street in Biloxi, and Howard Avenue, concluding at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Biloxi.
A ceremonial flyover is planned as the procession crosses the Ocean Springs–Biloxi Bridge.
People are encouraged and are expected to line the procession route Friday to pay their respects to Deputy Jimerson and the Jimerson family.
