Fights at Crawfish Music Festival lead to changes
The first night of the 27th annual Crawfish Music Festival brought out around 11,000 people. Everything had to be shut down early due to fights that broke out.
Coast Coliseum Executive Director Matt McDonnell said, “It deters people that are coming not for the entertainment, not to eat crawfish, not to ride any rides, just to come to mix it up and create problems. We are not going to tolerate it. If it means that we have to charge admission that’s what it means. We have got 27 years invested in this. It is the oldest music festival in South Mississippi. It has always been successful and we have always prided ourselves on it being family-friendly.”
