Fifteen-month-old hit by vehicle in Saucier

A toddler is recovering after being struck by a vehicle off Ann Road in Saucier earlier.

Harrison County Sheriff Troy Peterson tells News 25 the 15-month-old child was taken to the hospital after a Gator utility vehicle hit him in reverse.

According to authorities, an older sibling was at the wheel and the collision was an accident. The toddler was treated and released from the hospital with no serious injuries.

A mother who lives on Ann Road tells News 25 this is an area where vehicles have become a dangerous problem. Saucier resident Abby Lockley said, “This road, to be a dead end, it is constantly full with people driving outrageous speeds. There have been drivers skidding out into the road because they’re going so fast they are actually sliding to the stop sign.”

Ann Road is off Turan Road in Saucier. Authorities and paramedics were called to the scene just after noon.
