FEMA teams up with Home Depot to offer storm tips
FEMA is offering advice for disaster preparedness and disaster relief application help at the Home Depot in Biloxi.
The FEMA Mobile Recovery Unit closed today in Moss Point, but if you still need help filling out the application, they’ll be at Home Depot offering advice.
On top of that, they also have information about how to make your home more wind resistant as well as preparing your family for a weather emergency.
Children will be able to learn about storms through their own coloring book and there is a pamphlet just about caring for your pets in an emergency.
Emergency kit supplies are also available at Home Depot. Mitigation and Outreach Specialist Anne Furman said, “We get a little lax not being prepared. So, we’re encouraging again the idea of staying prepared, putting together a go-kit, and making sure that it’s kept current or that you review it every six months. We invite you to come out and visit us. We’d love to visit with you about the go-kits that we have here and pick up an emergency preparedness list.”
They will be at the Home Depot on Elizabeth Boulevard everyday until Monday from 9 to 5:30.
