FEMA, MEMA opening mobile recovery center in Moss Point

FEMA and the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency will be closing the Disaster Recovery Center housed at the Riverfront Community Center to open a mobile recovery center.

The Disaster Recovery Center inside Riverfront will close permanently at 6 p.m. today.

In its place, a mobile recovery center will open at 8 a.m. Monday in the parking lot of the Riverfront Community Center. Hours will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Going to a center is not necessary to apply or to connect with FEMA and its partners. Jackson County residents can continue to get information and apply for assistance by going to disasterassistance.gov or by calling the FEMA helpline at 800-621-3362.

The helpline is live 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with language translation services available. If you use a relay service, such as video relay (VRS), captioned telephone or other service, give FEMA your number for that service.
