FEMA Disaster Funding Update: $1.7 million distributed to homeowners

FEMA is giving an update on tornado recovery money that has been awarded so far in two Mississippi counties.

This money has been distributed in Jasper County as well as right here on the Coast in Jackson County following the destructive June tornado in Moss Point.

So far, more than $1.7 million in grants has been awarded to renters and homeowners including $1.4 million in housing assistance for home repairs and home replacement.

Additionally, the Small Business Administration has approved over $2 million in disaster loans for homeowners and businesses to supplement insurance money and FEMA grants.
