Felony dog stealing arrest

Pass Christian police arrested a Gulfport woman for stealing her employer’s dog. Thirty-seven year-old Sarah Jean Bowers of Gulfport faces one felony count of dog stealing.
The arrest was the result of an investigation after the victim signed a private affidavit stating that Bowers, a hired housekeeper, had stolen an AKC registered Pomeranian from the victim when she left her employment. The dog was recovered unharmed from a residence in Gulfport.
Bowers posted a $2,500 bond set by Justice Court Judge Diane Ladner and was released from custody pending a preliminary hearing.
