Felix Gines running for state representative district 115
Ward 2 Biloxi Councilman Felix Gines made his announcement to run for state representative district 115.
“I will be filing for state representative for district 115.” With supporters filling up Satchmo’s, Ward 2 Biloxi Councilman Felix Gines chose to run for this position with one word in mind. “Visibility, we had that state of the economy report. When we, it was kind of devastating. I want to seize the opportunity that we have.”
The candidate wants to make sure $600 million dedicated to the Gulf Coast goes to the right places. Serving on the Biloxi Planning Commission and the city council allows Gines to use this experience to his advantage. “Working with congressmen, working with the governor, I have a proven record of talking to everyone. What I want to do is bring all entities together to improve our community.”
Councilman Gines discussed how hard Hurricane Katrina, economic downturn, and the BP oil spill hit the Gulf Coast. He tells News 25 he’s up for the position because he doesn’t dodge hard times. “I wanna stand out front. I want to be the one to lead us into a prosperous community. Unity and protecting our community and bringing the Gulf Coast back to what it should be.”
