Fees raised in Biloxi due to passed ordinance

Biloxi residents, if you’ve noticed that your sewage and garbage bill has gone up recently.

The reason why is Biloxi passed an ordinance approving a rate hike that went into effect October 1st.

Generally, single family and multifamily homes went from $17 a month to $23.75 a month.

Commercial rates also went up the same amount.

Garbage collection is administered by Harrison County Utility Authority, who has contracts with Waste Management and Pelican Waste.

The rate increase passed during the September 12th council meeting by a vote of 4-2, with Ward 7 Councilman Nathan Barrett absent.
