Feed my Sheep taking care of the community the week before Christmas

The team at Feed my Sheep is making sure their community is feeling the holiday spirit this week leading up to Christmas.

Today, the organization, in partnership with the Coastal Family Health Center, gave away COVID-19 tests as well as tests for other diseases.

The center also gave out free care packages filled with clothes to visitors to help them get through the winter season.

Next up on the agenda, Feed my Sheep will host their annual Christmas lunch on Thursday from 11:30 to 1.  The lunch will be a traditional holiday feast with turkey, sweet potato casserole, ham, and more.

The organization established the traditional meal since they opened their doors in 1983. Feed my Sheep Executive Director David Lion said, “If you’re down on your luck or feel bad about your situation, come on down and volunteer for a little while, and it kind of puts things in perspective. It really lifts you up knowing you’re helping somebody else through the day and get some nourishment and some cheer in their life and just spiritually picking them up.”
