Federal Funding For Katrina Damaged Homes
Jackson county officials are scouring the area for properties that are condemned. Or need to be after hurricane Katrina. This coming ahead of a new program that could provide federal funding for demolition of the damaged structures. The Mississippi home corporation is developing a program to provide money to cities and counties throughout the state to help get rid of blighted and abandoned homes. The agency has submitted its plan and if approved, it could mean 500-thousand dollars for Jackson County. If you know of any properties that need to be condemned, you’re asked to call 228-769-3056
