Fed-Ex drivers report shooting incident to Waveland Police Department

WAVELAND, Miss. (WXXV)- Waveland police officers were dispatched to a shooting at Villere Street on Wednesday afternoon.

The victims of the shooting were Fed-Ex drivers. They called dispatch and told them they left the scene of the shooting and would be standing by at another location.

Officers spoke to the victims who said they were delivering to a home across the street when a female was in the yard and shot at the Fed-Ex truck. The bullet entered the back fender well of the vehicle and lodged into a package in the vehicle.

Officers subdued the woman and located a gun in the grass about 12 feet from her. While speaking to the suspect, officers say that the woman was mentally unstable and she could not recall anything about the incident.

Pafford Ambulance arrived on the scene and transported the women to the hospital for a mental evaluation.

An arrest has not been at this time. No one was injured during the shooting. The incident is under investigation.
