FBI Agent Testifies in JJ Spa Case

An FBI agent testified that a cab driver who acted as a courier for money and prostitutes for a St. Martin spa was working undercover for authorities.
According to our media partner, the Sun Herald, FBI agent James Grunwald testified today in U.S. District Court that the driver would take women to and from the airport and make deposits of less than $10,000 at various banks. Grunwald says three accounts were in the name of Yeon Sook Hwang, who he says managed JJ Spa.
Hwang has been indicted on four counts of money laundering and one count each of human trafficking and conspiracy to commit money laundering. A judge ordered that she be held without bond.
Hwang’s attorney said his client was simply a receptionist at the business which was shut down following a November raid.
