Farmers selling locally this spring at the Gulfport Harbor Farmers Market

The Harbor Farmers Market is back in action at Gulfport’s Jones Park.

The market is open every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a variety of produce from local vendors. It’s a way for home-grown vendors to showcase their produce and skills as farmers, artists, and gardeners.

Local vendors talked with us about the importance of shopping locally. Farmers Market Manager Suzanne Paulk said, “But we have everything in the world to offer, from desserts and plants to vegetables.”

Local gardener Robert Dorr said, “Fun market, it’s well run, lots of great vendors. So being closer to where the products are produced and having the knowledge and the experience of the people that are producing. It is a big plus.”

Derik Conerly with Buff’s Voodoo Peppers said, “Put your time, your effort, your money, your love, your heart is where you live. Invest in your home.”

You can follow the Harbor Market for updates on vendors and more on Facebook.
