Farm to Fork event in Gulfport
If you are tired of eating greasy food every day and maybe looking to change your ways, United Healthcare might have the perfect option.
Tomorrow from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Harrison County Good Deeds Community Center in Gulfport, United Healthcare will host their Farm-to-Fork Benefit.
United Healthcare works with the Alcorn State University extension program to provide free bags of farm-fresh produce to community plan members enrolled in the CHIP and Mississippi-Can programs. Teresa Youngblood with United Healthcare Community Outreach said, “We want to make sure that low income families and families that might have food deserts, different places and low income communities that don’t have access to fresh fruit and vegetables that we can just do our part in making sure that at least our members are out there getting something.”
Produce will be available on a first come, first serve basis.
