Farm-to-Fork Benefit
In winter’s chill or summer heat, a farmer works so the world can eat. United Healthcare is relaying that message.
The health care company is hosting their Farm-to-Fork Benefit at the Good Deeds Community Center in Gulfport.
Customers of United Healthcare can go home with a bag of vegetables including peppers, sweet potatoes, and lettuce.
The object is to provide fresh vegetables to customers of United to give thanks and show support for their loyalty. “We have 18 distribution sites in Mississippi and I go to three. I go to Moss Point, Gulfport, and Forrest County. Some places are too far to drive so we want to get as close as we can to our members so we can serve them.”
The Farm-to-Fork Benefit goes on all year long, even giving out full turkeys to families during Thanksgiving.
