Fans Gearing up for the Egg Bowl

North Carolina versus Duke. Florida versus Florida State. Kentucky versus Louisville. There are numerous rivalries in college sports but if you ask most Coast residents, there’s only one that matters.
Saturday, the 2015 Egg Bowl featuring number 18 Ole Miss and number 21 Mississippi State will be separating friends and family for another year.
The Bulldogs will be looking for redemption after losing last year. Even though the game is in Starkville, that doesn’t keep fans on the Coast from showing their pride. You can’t drive too far on the Coast without seeing State shirts or Ole Miss license plates.
Just like last year, fans are counting down until kickoff. Melissa Scruggs, MSU class of 2013, said, “It’s intense. It’s tailgating everywhere. From the very beginning of the day before, everything is crazy. You have stuff everywhere, people are setting up. It’s a big rivalry. There’s cowbells everywhere, any time you see the dreaded red and blue, you’re just ringing.”
Ole Miss fan Mike McCloud said, “Who? Mississippi Who? It’s been a rivalry for years. Of course, as you can see, I’m an Ole Miss fan, ever since I was a kid. Ole Miss is the best.”
Kickoff for the Egg Bowl is set for 6:15. A Rebels win along with an Alabama loss to Auburn would put Ole Miss in the SEC Championship Game.
