Fannie Lou Hamer honored with historic marker in New Jersey
A piece of Mississippi history has made its way to New Jersey.
Governor Tate Reeves was in Atlantic City for the unveiling of a new Mississippi Freedom Trail marker honoring Fannie Lou Hamer.
This is the first marker for the Freedom Trail outside the Magnolia State, being installed at the site of the 1964 Democratic National Convention.
The “Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party” traveled to that DNC inside Boardwalk Hall to advocate for an integrated delegation.
