Family and friends gather to mourn Wiggins Firefighter Clint Jacobs
A man who gave so much to his community was laid to rest today as funeral services for Wiggins Firefighter Clint Jacobs were held.
Loved ones gathered this morning to honor the life of Clint Jacobs, who passed away Sunday due to COVID-19.
Jacobs was 46-years-old and was loved by many including his wife Wendy, three children, and six siblings. James Jacobs said, “He was always in a good mood no matter what he had going on. He was always willing to help each and every one along the way.”
Joe Jacobs said, “Well, Clint was my oldest brother. I was the next brother right under him, so he was the one I looked up to growing up.”
Jacobs was an avid hunter and fisherman. He left his family and friends with many fond memories to cherish. Daniel Jacobs said, “We started catching fish left and right and he had the time of his life. His oldest boy ended up catching a six-and-a-half-pound bass that day and it’s always stuck out in my mind.”
For over two years, Jacobs volunteered much of his time as a fireman at the Wiggins Fire Department. Department Chief Jody Hatten says Jacobs was a perfect example of what a volunteer should be like. “Great guy. Just a true volunteer. Wanted to serve people. Wanted to help people, willing to help anything, any person with any kind of need.”
His brothers say Clint is going to leave behind a void in their hearts that may never be filled again. “He’s left a big hole, but the only thing I can do, I know Clint would want me to do, is continue to help people.”
“He’s one that hurts because he was such a part of people’s lives.”
