Families finding ways to take a summer break
New data shows inflation is up 8.6 percent since this time last year.
And that data means taking a vacation could prove too costly for some families this summer.
But despite the inflation, beachgoers determined to make the most of their summer were seen sunbathing and enjoying the water on the beach in Biloxi.
Families on the beach say the relaxation of the beach were well deserved, considering what had to be done to make the trip possible.
One family said mom took an extra job to save money for a vacation.
The Roberts family from Oxford said high gas prices made traveling any further than Biloxi cost prohibitive. So they’re making the most of what’s in their budget and getting some sun on the Coast.
“We’re growing a lot of our own vegetables and fishing to save money so we can enjoy things like this.”
