Faith Based Outreach Breakfast

This morning, CASA of Hancock County hosted a Faith-Based Outreach Breakfast.

The goal of the event was to educate and mobilized the faith-based community to support Hancock County’s at-risk children. Attendees had a chance to learn how the CASA program works to advocate for foster children to ensure they achieve safe and permanent homes.

CASA Executive Director Cynthia Chauvin tells News 25 there could be multiple benefits from partnering with faith-based organizations. “The conversation of CASA is still not one that is widely known across the county and across the Coast. So, the idea is if we can engage the leadership of the churches then they can help us mobilize within their congregation. It’s a win-win. We get to give them some information and for those churches that already have a partnership with us, we can highlight what they are doing.”

Attendees also had a chance to hear from Hancock County Youth Court Judge Trent Favre.
