Faith based addiction rehab: The Most Excellent Way

Drug addiction is one of the most common public health problems in the United States. Over 20 million people are current or former drug addicts in the states.
The road to recovery can be a long and frightening road, but one local group aims to make the transition easier with a faith-based approach. The Most Excellent Way is a local support group built on using fellowship and the word of God to fight addictions of all kinds.
The weekly meetings include teachings from the Bible, group discussions, and reflections. Member Amanda Johnson said, “I don’t have that urge anymore. I don’t have those triggers that come up that make me want to get high. I just make sure I stay in my church, stay in church, and read my Bible and that’s just how I did it. It’s just God, God, him alone. I get so excited talking about it.”
The meetings are held in the Fellowship Hall at Campground Baptist Church on Highway 53 in Gulfport.
