Extradition hearing for murder suspect
The man accused of killing a South Mississippi man and putting his body inside a freezer will appear in a Portland, Oregon court today for an extradition hearing.
Forty-year-old Thomas Elliot Stafford is charged with the capital murder of 65-year-old Jerry Floyd Kirkendall. U.S. Marshals arrested Stafford outside of a home in Portland, Oregon Saturday without incident. Stafford is accused of strangling Kirkendall to death.
Kirkendall’s body was found inside the freezer of the Latimer home he was renting one week ago.
