Exit Realty and 911 Restoration organize Earth Day clean up in Harrison County

To celebrate Earth Day, Exit Realty and 911 Restoration partnered to help clean a portion of the beach in Harrison County.

Clean up stations were set up along the beach. Due to the high winds, there was a lot of trash being blow onto the sand.

Cigarette butts, plastic bottles, and food wrappers made up most of the garbage removed from the area. Tiffany Marshall with Exit Realty said, “Every month, we try to do some community involvement. Get out in the community and serve the community in which we serve. So, we decided it was Earth Day and there is not a better reason to get out there and clean the Gulf Coast and allow our residents that enjoy the Gulf Coast to come out and enjoy a clean beach and anybody that visits the Gulf Coast can just come and enjoy our beautiful beaches down here.”

Scott Pulliam with 911 Restoration said, “Being Earth Day is actually quit fitting for us to be here doing this because I think a lot of people take for granted what we have here and you know, it just doesn’t take care of itself.”

With many people traveling to the Coast for spring break, it is important to keep the beaches as clean as possible to keep the visitors coming back.
