Exceptional Children’s Christmas Party
For the 57th year the Elks Lodge in Biloxi has spread Christmas cheer to special needs children.
Today, 110 special needs students from the Harrison County School District paraded down Highway 90 all the way to the lodge. They were escorted by Santa, superheroes, and Disney characters.
Once they arrived at the lodge that’s when the real fun began for the kids. Different classes performed Christmas songs for Santa, Ms. Claus and the king and queen of the celebration. There were also skits, games, and lots of Christmas cheer.
Each child took home a present fitted to their age and needs as well. Biloxi Elks Lodge President Chuck Burding said, “This will probably be a lot of their Christmas morning. We’re here to provide that and to make them feel happy about themselves. We do this because Elks care and Elks share for our community.”
The lodge hopes to include more school districts from all over the Coast in the future.
