‘Excel by 5’ Immunization Fair

The Biloxi ‘Excel by 5’ is lending out a helping hand to Coast students before the start of the school year.

Until this Friday, children ages five to 13 can head to the Coastal Family Health Center in Biloxi from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to receive immunizations.

While the Immunization Fair takes place in Biloxi, it is open to all children in and out of the state.

Dr. Wendy Williams was on hand today at Lopez School for the fair. She tells News 25 parents have told them how much of a help the fair has been to them. “Pediatric offices are crazy at this time of the year with immunizations as well as physicals and all that stuff that is going on. So, it’s hard to get in and they’re overwhelmed. That’s why we had developed this so we are a place where everybody can come, feel welcome, feel like they’re not being a bother and get everything done that they need done.”

All that is needed for the immunizations is your insurance card, a photo ID, and a shot record.
